Meet CypressHR: A Calmer Home for Your People Work

September 15, 2026 · John Singleton, SHRM-CP

I built CypressHR so the owners I sit with could have one kind, simple place for their people — and still have a person to call. It is live today for businesses anywhere in the United States.

If you have ever looked for a signed handbook in a folder, a PTO request in a text thread, and a new hire’s paperwork in somebody’s email — you already know why I built this. You care about your people. You just should not have to hold the whole house in your head.

CypressHR is live at cypresshr.app. It is a calm home for the people side of a small or midsized U.S. business. Not a Texas-only tool. Not a PEO. Your company stays the employer. You keep the payroll person you already trust, the benefits carrier you already have, and your name on the W-2. I wanted something that feels like help — not like another system you have to learn.

What it gives you back

One place you can actually open on a Tuesday. Who works here. The papers they signed. Time off. Hours. A welcome list for someone new. A quiet view of what is waiting on you. Your people get a simple portal, so they are not pinging you for a vacation balance. Your managers get a clear list, so approvals are not living in their inbox.

  • A directory that shows who works where, and who they report to
  • Handbooks and acknowledgments, with a signature when you need one
  • Time-off requests and balances — timesheets too, on Pro
  • Welcome lists for day one, and a respectful list for someone’s last day
  • Goals, check-ins, and reviews without another spreadsheet
  • A private place for medical or ADA files, only if you need it
  • Gentle reminders about posters and due dates — awareness, not a lecture

If you want the fuller house, Pro also includes hiring, schedules, deeper people notes, reports, and short staff check-ins. Essentials is the people file: directory, documents, portal, time off, and announcements. Start where you are. You do not have to use every room on day one.

What you do not have to give up

You do not have to become someone else’s employee. CypressHR is not a PEO. We do not run payroll or take over benefits. Time in Cypress is so you — or the person who already does payroll — can pay from hours that are actually true. Benefits stay with your carrier. We can point people there. We do not take that from you.

Your people’s information stays yours. Other companies cannot see it. We do not sell it, and we do not use it to train public AI. If you ever need a private medical file, that vault is optional, and the agreement for it is part of signup — no theater, no pressure.

Who I built it for

Owners who are too small for a full HR department and too exposed to keep this in a shared drive. One location or several. Texas, Ohio, Florida, a crew in two states and an office in a third. If you are in the United States and you want a kind, simple home for your people work, you are who I had in mind. (We stay U.S.-only on purpose, so we can do that well.)

What it costs — said plainly

  • Essentials is $350 a month — the people file.
  • Pro is $700 a month at list. Founding seats are $500 a month for life on Pro, while they last. Essentials stays $350.
  • A completed e-signature is $1. Uploading a signed paper yourself stays free.

If you also want a person in the chair — someone to talk through the hard conversation — fractional HR from Quick HR Solutions, LLC is still here. Sounding Board, Execution Partner, or Embedded. That is invoiced separately, never mixed into the software checkout. Software only is perfectly fine. Software plus a partner is there when you are ready.

Why I made it instead of sending you elsewhere

A lot of “all-in-one” tools want payroll, benefits, and IT in the same cart. That is right for some companies. A lot of the owners I know already have a payroll person they like. They do not want to move the whole house just to get a decent people file. CypressHR stays with the work you actually do: people, papers, time, and how folks are doing. Time back. Fewer surprises. Peace of mind that feels like a deep breath, not a billboard.

I still sit with clients. The software is so that work has a home when I am not on the call — and so an owner across the country can take good care of their people without hiring a department first.

If you want to walk through it, come to cypresshr.app. Founding seats on Pro are open. If you would rather have me show you around, say so. Fifteen minutes. No pitch. Just a look at whether it would feel like a relief.

This is general information for Texas owners, not legal advice and not a determination about your company. Rules change. For a situation with names and dates, talk with an employment attorney. If you want a practical partner to stand the process up, that is the work we do.

Come take a look
