Remote HR · anywhere in the US

Remote HR consultant for small businesses, anywhere in the US

You didn't start your company to be its HR department, but somewhere along the way you became one. You write the offer letters, you handle the complaint nobody else wants to touch, and you look up the rules late at night hoping you got it right.

I'm John Singleton, SHRM-CP, and I run Quick HR Solutions. I spent more than 16 years in senior HR at companies like TCS, Coforge, and Mastek, leading HR across multiple states and sites. Today I work with owner-led businesses that have outgrown doing HR on the side but aren't ready for a full-time HR hire. I'm based in Dallas-Fort Worth, and most of my work happens by phone, video, and email, so where your business is located doesn't limit what I can do for you.

Who this is for

Most of the owners I work with have about 20 to 80 employees and nobody whose full-time job is HR. Some are growing fast and hiring every month. Some have a remote team spread across several states. Others just had one employee situation that made them realize they need a real process. If the people side is landing on your desk and eating your week, this is for you.

What I take off your plate

How remote HR works day to day

You get one senior person who learns your business, not a call center or a rotating team. We talk by phone or video, share documents securely, and handle the quick questions by email. You get a reply the same business day. For the harder moments, like a termination meeting or a sensitive investigation, I'm on the call with you or your manager, and we plan it together beforehand.

Plans are month-to-month with no long-term contract, and pricing is posted on the site so you know what to expect before we talk. You can also bring me in for a single project, like a handbook or one difficult employee situation.

Working across state lines

Employment rules change from state to state, and a remote team can mean several sets of rules at once. I start with federal requirements and the rules for each state where you have employees, and I'll tell you plainly where the differences matter. I handle practical HR: process, people, and good employer practice. When a situation needs a legal opinion, I'll say so and work alongside your employment attorney.

Getting started

The first step is a free 15-minute call. You tell me what's going on, I ask a few questions, and we figure out whether I can help. If it's a fit, we decide together whether you need ongoing support or a one-time project. There's no pressure either way.

Frequently asked questions

Do you work with businesses outside Texas?
Yes. I'm based in Dallas-Fort Worth, but I work with small businesses anywhere in the US by phone, video, and email. For owners in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, I can also meet in person when that helps.
How does remote HR support actually work?
You get one senior HR consultant who learns your business. Quick questions go by email with a same-business-day reply, and bigger topics happen on a scheduled phone or video call. Documents are shared securely, and for hard conversations I join the call and help you plan it beforehand.
Can you help if my employees are in more than one state?
Yes. I look at federal requirements and the rules for each state where you have employees, and I point out where they differ. For questions that need a legal opinion, I'll recommend bringing in an employment attorney and work alongside them.
Do I need a long-term contract?
No. Ongoing plans are month-to-month, and you can also hire me for a single project such as an employee handbook or one employee situation.
Is this a replacement for payroll or a PEO?
No. You stay the employer, and your payroll provider or PEO can stay exactly where it is. Many owners keep those services and bring me in for the hands-on HR work and judgment they don't cover.
